The gobelin tapestry’s origin is from a dye-works founded by Jean Gobelin in the mid 15th century. The Gobelins factory produced amazing works of art and was noted for its excellence in materials, dyes, and workmanship. The gobelins were based on paintings, frequently from the masters, and had religious themes that were coveted by royalty throughout Europe.
